Latchkey & Summer Rec Camp
Welcome to the City of Cheyenne Childcare Programs.
The Latchkey and Summer Rec Camp programs strive to provide a safe and fun environment for our participants while enriching the life of every child who walks through our door. We provide care for children in kindergarten through the summer after they’ve completed 6th grade.

Weather Policy – If the School District is closed due to bad weather, the City Recreation Division Programs will also be closed.

Latchkey Program – School Year 2021-22
The Latchkey program provides before and afternoon care for children in elementary school, transportation to and from school daily, an afternoon snack and juice, homework help, and a wide variety of activities to keep you child engaged. Care on teacher in-service days or holiday breaks (except for City recognized holidays), and field trips or special activities on days without school.

Latchkey Program – School Year 2022-2023
The Latchkey program provides before and after school care for children in elementary school. The program also provides transportation to majority of schools within Cheyenne. Spots are limited. For more information, please contact Jade Herstein at email@example.com or at (307) 286-5117.
Cost: $220/month per child (prorated cost in August 2022 and June 2023)
- $35 supply free per child due at registration.
Dates: August 24 to June 2, 2022
- Open registration: July 11, 2022 at the Kiwanis Community House
Program Hours: 6:45am to 5:45pm
Locations: The location your child attends will be determined by their school.
- Pioneer Park Center- 1331 Talbot Ct.

Closures are set the same as the City of Cheyenne office holidays and closures.
$220/month per child (Prorated in August and June)
$35 Supply Fee
- Before and after school care
- Transportation to and from school
- Afternoon snack and juice
- Homework help in the afternoons.
- A wide variety of activities to keep children active.
- Care on half days and teacher in-service days as long as they are not City recognized holidays.
2022 Summer Rec Camp
This is a 10-week program that is structured to keep your child active while providing quality childcare. Spots are limited.
Cost: $1,300/child with a $35 supply fee
Date: June 6, 2022 to August 12, 2022
- Pre-registration: March 1st-11th for current Latchkey families and 2021 Summer Rec Camp participants only.
- Open registration: March 21st at the Kiwanis Community House, 7:30am.
- Limited space.
Easter Egg Hunt - April 16, 2022
Come enjoy an Easter egg hunt with the chance to win an extra special basket. It’s encouraged to bring your empty Easter baskets for the hunt, and this is a free event to the public.
Date: April 16, 2022
Location: Holiday Park (west side)
Time: 10:00am Sharp
Ages: 2-8 years old
Parents can help children 3 years old and under. We ask that children 4 and older hunt independently.
